$1.48/lb green beans. A couple handfuls of almonds from my half pound bulk package that was $2.85 total (nut allergy? just leave it out, still tasty without). What else? Cooking oil and powder - it can be Lawry’s seasoning salt, garlic powder, or the cajun powder your mom’s friends send up from Louisiana.
It’s a straightforward, easy side. Prep the green beans by breaking off the ends and then snapping the remaining length in half (have two bowls to sort the parts in). Pour some oil in a saute pan and dump the green beans and almonds in, stir around, pour some powder on top. Keep cooking until the green beans are bright green. Leftovers can be eaten cold or warm.
